North to Nebbiolo

Fri, Dec 02, 22
Our Tour through Italy continues! And what a better grape to celebrate in Italy than Nebbiolo! Each major winemaking region has a thin-skinned grape that creates elegant, complex, ageable reds. Nebbiolo is created in just that fashion. From the Langhe in Piedmont, you’ll see Nebbiolo that leads with red fruits and fresh raspberry with a short dry finish. Some of them you can even served chilled! Then you can move on up to Barbaresco or Barolo. Two ancient winemaking regions that have always been known for their ageable wines, but also have some producers that are taking more modern aging approach to their vintages. The biggest thing to note about these two regions is their soil structure which gives a very different interpretation to the grape, without compromising on quality. Here are some of our favorites that we thought you would like too!
