Dram Card & Hold Card Rules

Ask for your Dram Card at the register. Buy any 750ml whisk(e)y and get your card punched! One punch for every bottle up to $50. Two punches for every bottle between $50.01 and $150. Three punches for every bottle over $151. When you reach 16 punches you are eligible for a tee shirt or a Hold Card.

When do you get a Hold Card?
The Hold Card is part of our Dram Card Lottery program, when you receive 16 punch-es on your Dram Card you can turn your Dram card in for one Hold Card.

What does a Hold Card do? A Hold Card allows you to be placed in a lottery for the right to purchase an allocated Whisk(e)y. The Hold Card has a location on the back of the card in order to write in your contact information as well as the specific name of a bottle you would like us to hold for you when it comes into the store. In the case of collections or multiple release expressions, i.e. Buffalo Trace Antique Collection or the Van Winkle expressions, you must submit cards for each expression you wish to purchase. When the bottle you requested comes into the store, before they are offered to the general public we will put the requested bottle aside for you and contact you to let you know it is in. **Buffalo Trace Antique Collection (BTAC) and Van Winkle expressions are handled differently -please see HOLD CARD AUCTION section!

What are the rules of the Hold Card?

First a Hold Card does not guarantee you will receive the whisk(e)y you requested, though it does greatly increase your chance of receiving that bottle. Basically if we receive more Hold Cards for a release than the amount of bottles received by Julio’s your Hold Card will place you into a lottery to have the bottle held for you.

If you do not win the lottery you will be issued a new Hold Card that you can re-submit for future offerings. You may submit multiple Hold Cards thus “stacking the deck” for a specific release. However, if one of your cards wins for that specific expression all other card for that same expression will be forfeit. Julio’s does reserve the right to limit the quantities offered to individuals.

Hold cards are also non-transferable, once you submit the Hold Card for a certain release that is the bottle we will hold for you. You may not change your requested hold for another release.

Hold Cards do not expire, though when the bottle you request arrives at the store we will only hold the bottle for a 2-week period. After that period the bottle will be offered to the general public and the Hold Cards submitted for that expression are forfeit.

We are excited to be able to offer this to our customers as, I’m sure some of you have noticed, limited release whisk(e)y are starting to become increasingly popular. Hope-fully this program will help allow our customers to end up with those rare expressions in their hands more frequently.

HOLD CARD AUCTION

Because of increase demand for Pappy & BTAC expressions we have created a special “HOLD CARD Auction”! Date TBA, but it will be between Thanksgiving and Christmas Holidays, depending on when we receive our allocations of Pappy & BTAC. On that day we will also be offering up other UNICORNS for HOLD CARD bidding.

Here’s how it will work:
We will offer up expressions of Pappy/BTAC and customers will bid with HOLD CARDS until only the amount of bidders left equals the amount of bottles for sale. You are only bidding HOLD CARDS to gain the right to purchase the bottle, the retail price of the bottles is set before bidding starts.

Example:
There are 3 bottles of Pappy 16yr for $100 each. We will ask for a bid of 1 HOLD CARD. If people raise their hand to bid at 1 HOLD CARD we will raise the bid to 2 HOLD CARDS. We will continue to raise the bid until only 3 bidders remain since we have only 3 bottles to sell. Those three bidders will receive a slip to take to the register where they will pay for the bottle and turn over the amount of HOLD CARDS of the bid.

*Bidders are allowed to bid on as many items as they want, BUT they have to have enough HOLD CARDS to satisfy all of their winning bids. They must also purchase all of their winning bid items. Anyone caught trying to circumvent the system or flipping bottles will forfeit their right to purchase. Bidders may pool their HOLD CARDS to create bidding groups, but how bottles are paid for and split up is not the responsibility of Julio’s Liquors nor any of its employees.

Any HOLD CARDS that have already been turned in for other products will be allowed to be picked up BEFORE Thanksgiving to make sure you have the maximum amount of HOLD CARDS at your disposal.
